AUGUSTA (AP) — Gov. Paul LePage is inviting Maine residents to the Blaine House next month off to drop off food donations and receive a tour of the governor’s mansion.

The Republican governor and First Lady Ann LePage are hosting the third annual food drive on three consecutive Saturdays in October, starting on the 12th. People will be able to drop off food between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and receive a tour of the mansion from the governor.

The governor’s office said the donations will be sent to the Good Shepherd Food Bank, which will distribute them.

LePage said in a statement that as the holiday season approaches, it is important to “remember those who are less fortunate and are trying to get on their feet.”
