RUMFORD — Shawn Bennett and Guido Quaglino scored for Mountain Valley in the first half, as the Falcons slipped past Oak Hill 2-1 in MVC soccer action.

Gage Welch made an assist for the Falcons, while Jacob Beauchesne stopped seven shots in net.

Austin Dube scored the lone goal for Oak Hill, while 12 saves and outstanding goalie play from Kyle Fields kept Oak Hill in the game.

Lisbon 2, Carrabec 0

LISBON — Nick Huston and Austin Fournier each scored a goal in the first half as Lisbon held on the rest of the way, earning a 2-0 victory over Carrabec in a boys’ soccer game Tuesday.

Lisbon goalie Nate Bergeron made sure the Cobras (1-4-1) didn’t see the inside of the Greyhounds’ net, making 11 saves to earn the shutout.
 
Austin Bedford and Kyle Whitman were each credited with assists, and Dylan Clifford shined on defense.

Lewiston 4, Mt. Blue 0

LEWISTON — Lewiston used four different scorers as the Blue Devils cruised past Mt. Blue 4-0 in boys’ soccer action Tuesday.

Abukar Hassan, Abdulkarim Abdulle, Noor Abdullahi and Maslah Hassan all found the back of the net for the Blue Devils (5-1). Colton Lawrence stopped 13 shots in net for the Cougars (3-3).

Wiscasset 3, Telstar 0

BETHEL — JD Souza scored his first of two goals at 18:22, leading Wiscasset past Telstar 3-0 in boys’ MVC soccer action.

Travis Padilla caught the Rebel defense flat, and scored to open the second half. Wiscasset goaltender Dylan McMahon made three saves for the Wolverines (3-2-1).

Bronson Dean stopped 11 shots in net for the Rebels (2-4).

York 4, Gray-New Gloucester 0

GRAY — Mike Gallagher found the back of the net three times as York cruised past Gray-New Gloucester 4-0 in soccer action Tuesday.

Mitchell Hickey added another goal for the Wildcats (3-0-3). Adam Legg made six saves in the shutout win for York. Brendan McNally turned back seven shots for the Patriots (1-5).

Girls’ soccer

Falmouth 3, Poland 0

POLAND — Falmouth spread the ball well, scoring with three different players, as the Yachtsmen shut out Poland 3-0 in girls’ soccer action.

Lucy Mahoney, Hannah Donovan and Megan Miller scored for the Yachstmen (5-0), while Miller tallied hers on a PK. Haley Whitworth had a busy day in net for the Knights (3-2), stopping 13 of the 19 shots she faced.

Mt. Blue 5, Lewiston 0

FARMINGTON — Eryn Doiron scored a hat trick, leading Mt. Blue to a 5-0 victory over Lewiston in KVAC  soccer action.

Mt. Blue was paced by Miranda Nicely, who scored twice and added in an assist for the Cougars (3-3). Thia Bridges and Addie Schanz shared time in net, making 16 saves and 1 save respectively.

Kelsey St. Cyr stopped 20 shots in net for the Blue Devils (0-4-1).

Leavitt 2, Gardiner 0

GARDINER —  Monica Beaule and Mackenzie Varney each found the back of the net for Leavitt as they topped Gardiner 2-0 in girls’ varsity soccer.

Kelsea Marschall made an assist on Beaule’s goal while Angela Daigle stopped all six shots she faced for the Hornets (3-3-1). Ally Day made 12 saves for the Tigers (2-5).

Field hockey

Skowhegan 11, Lewiston 0

SKOWHEGAN — Allison Lancaster blasted four goals into the back of the net, as Skowhegan routed Lewiston 11-0 in KVAC field hockey action.

Brooke Michonski and Rylie Blanchet each scored twice for the Indians, while Michonski added an assist. Skowhegan, who remains undefeated, utilized six different scorers, three of which scored multiple goals. Kaylyn Labonte made 26 saves in net for the Blue Devils (2-5).
