LEWISTON — LifeFlight of Maine will host a 15th anniversary open house from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, at the main entrance and helipad at Central Maine Medical Center.

During the past 15 years, LifeFlight has cared for more than 15,000 critically ill and injured patients of every age in the state of Maine. The nonprofit organization has earned multiple awards for safety, community outreach and top-notch leadership and has been featured in several medical journals and magazines.

The open house is located at the main entrance (High Street) at CMMC and will feature a presentation starting at 4:30 p.m. Speakers will include Peter Chalke, CEO of Central Maine Healthcare Corporation; Dr. Larry Hopperstead, trauma surgeon at CMMC and Rumford Hospital; and Thomas Judge, LifeFlight’s executive director.

Light snacks, including fresh apple cider and donuts from Benoit’s Orchard, will be served. The LifeFlight medical crew, pilots and staff will be in attendance to give tours of the helicopter and answer questions.
