Raised on the coast of Maine — her father a fisherman-playwright, mother a grade-school teacher — Schrock left home at 16, finished high school at the Putney School in Vermont, and then headed to New York City and Paris where she spent nearly two years working as a fashion model.

Uncompelled, Schrock began reading Dostoevsky and Nietzsche on park benches between go-sees in le Jardin Du Luxemburg, and sneaking into the back rooms of piano stores on Av du Maine to work on her secret life as a bad poet and budding songwriter.

Since that time she has emerged as one of the premiere singer-songwriters of a generation, has released six critically acclaimed albums and has been included on multiple compilation albums.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and $12 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at www.johnsonhall.org or by calling 207-582-7144.
