GREENWOOD — A Living Gluten Free seminar and cooking workshop is being offered by Suzanne Dunham, herbalist and gluten free baker, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Dunham Farm.

This program is for individuals recently diagnosed with celiac disease/dermatitis herpetiformus or other health issues that going gluten free may help, and for family and friends of those who are gluten intolerant.

The program will take place at Dunham Farm, located on Mount Christopher in Greenwood. The event will include a presentation on the basics of CD/HD and going gluten free; a cooking session with participants will offer the experience of using alternative flours to wheat, barley and rye, preparing a three course, gluten-free lunch using local ingredients: autumn soup, pizza and a dessert. Recipes and other handouts will be provided.

Brian and Suzanne Dunham operate a licensed commercial kitchen that is a dedicated gluten-free facility, and sell baked goods and other gluten-free goods to area stores and restaurants. They also operate a sugar house and produce maple syrup products; they are beekeepers as well. Suzanne first developed the Living Gluten Free presentation and cooking workshops in 2005; she has given presentations from Bangor to Damariscotta with many offered in Oxford Hills.

The fee for the seminar and cooking workshop is $20. For more information and to register call 207-665-2967, or send email to [email protected].
