LEWISTON — The Lewiston Blue Devils reeled off two goals in each half and made quick work of Cony with a 4-1 victory in a boys’ soccer game Thursday.

In the first half, Michael Wong took a Maslah Hassan feed and scored. Wong was followed by MK Mohamed who scored on Abdi Shariff-Hassan’s assist.

The Blue Devils were not done yet, and punched in a pair of goals by Abdibaari Hersi, who scored on an penalty kick, and Kwebena Akuffo-Anoff. For Cony, Bronson Kieltyka scored on a penalty kick.

Spruce Mountain 4, Winthrop 1

WINTHROP —  After sprinting out to a 2-0 lead in the first half, Spruce Mountain added another pair of goals to post a 4-1 victory over Winthrop in MVC boys’ soccer action Thursday.

Lucas and Noah Preble each tallied for the Phoenix (5-1-1) in the first half. Lucas scored again at the 11:06 mark of the second frame, while Tristen Begin also tallied to complete the scoring.

Ben Hall gave the Ramblers (1-5) a goal with 14 minutes left in regulation. Dustin Jones made eight saves for Spruce Mountain, while Matt Sekerak turned aside 18 shots for Winthrop.

St. Dom’s 2, Wiscasset 0
AUBURN —  Parker Hachey and SJ Park each netted a goal Thursday as St. Dom’s rolled to a 2-0 victory over Wiscasset in boys’ soccer action.

Ben Sawyer made five saves for the undefeated Saints (7-0) to notch the shutout, while Dylan McMahon turned aside 10 shots for the Wolverines (3-3-1).

Morse 5, Leavitt 4
TURNER —  Garrett Robson found the net with 32 minutes left in regulation as Morse edged Leavitt 5-4 in a KVAC tilt Thursday.

Alec Beveridge and Jacob Freemen also tallied for the Shipbuilders (1-5-1), while the final two were own goals.

Anthony Tedesco led the Hornets (1-6-1) with a pair of goals, while Tyler Roux and Evan Clark also tallied. Miles Day made 13 saves for Morse, while Carter Jordan and Lucas Perry combined to deflect nine shots for Leavitt.

Girls’ soccer

Edward Little 1, Brewer 0

AUBURN — Emily Jacques punched in an unassisted goal with 20:21 left in the second half and Edward Little (4-3) held on for a 1-0 victory over Brewer in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.

Red Eddies goalie Molly Murray made three saves to earn her shutout and EL outshot Brewer, 17-3.

Buckfield 5, Rangeley 1
BUCKFIELD —  Naudia Wesley registered a hat trick Thursday to propel Buckfield to a 5-1 win over Rangeley in EWC girl’s soccer action.

Ashley Campbell and Alexis Bennett also tallied for the Bucks (5-3) to complete the scoring.  Tori Letarte scored for the Lakers (3-2) in the second half.

Arrabine Dunn made eight saves to notch the win, while Blayke Morin turned back 16 shots between the posts for Rangeley.

Cony 2, Lewiston 1
LEWISTON —  Hayley Quirion scored her second goal of the contest on a breakaway with 17:02 left to play as Cony edged Lewiston 2-1 in KVAC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

The Blue Devils (0-5-1) took a 1-0 advantage in the first frame thanks to a goal by Maegan Mathan with an assist from Michela St. Laurent. Quirion tied the game early in the second half as the Rams regained control.

Olivia Deeres made 10 saves for Cony, while Kelsey St. Cyr turned aside 16 shots for Lewiston.

Bangor 3, Oxford Hills 0
PARIS —  Anna-Maria Dagher led a trio of players to register goals as Bangor cruised to a 3-0 victory over Oxford Hills in girls’ soccer action Thursday.

Mary Butler and Sarah Bragg also tallied for undefeated Bangor (6-0) to complete the scoring.

Emily Gilmore (5 saves) and Maddie Hodgdon (1) split time in net for Bangor, while Sam Bickford (four saves) and Kira Dube (3) combined skills between the posts for Oxford Hills (2-1-2). 

Field hockey

Messalonskee 8, Edward Little 0
AUBURN —  Emily Hogan and Mikayla Turner each netted a pair of goals Thursday as Messalonskee overpowered Edward Little 8-0 in a KVAC field hockey matchup.

Kassi Michaud, Erin Field, Nathalie St. Pierre and Sydney Gagne also tallied for the Eagles (8-1) to complete the scoring.

Abby Roberts didn’t need a single save to preserve the shutout, while Karli Stubbs turned back an impressive 25 shots for Edward Little.

Leavitt 3, Erskine 0
SOUTH CHINA —  Brianna DeGone netted a pair of goals Thursday to propel Leavitt to a 3-0 victory over Erskine.

Meagan Dow also tallied for the Hornets (5-3) to complete the scoring.

Veteran goalkeeper Sierra Santomango made six saves to notch the shutout, while Alexis Soucy turned aside 11 shots for the Eagles (1-7-1).

Mt. Ararat 3, Lewiston 0

LEWISTON — Caitlin LaFountain scored two goals and Evangeline Jerome added another as Mt. Ararat raced past Lewiston with a 3-0 victory in a field hockey game Thursday.

Mt. Ararat goali Nellie Hetherington made 10 saves to preserve her shutout.
