1969 – 2013

SCARBOROUGH — Jennifer Russell Gerow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 24, surrounded by her family and friends.

Born on Oct. 8, 1969, in Birmingham, Ala. and raised in Cape Elizabeth, Jenn, a trained massage therapist, returned to Portland after being away for several years and captured her deep love of animals and nature beautifully in her “Jenngie Designs” photo greeting cards

During the final year of her life, Jenn swam with the dolphins in Florida, was serenaded by singer Michael Franti — her two top “bucket list” wishes — and was the subject of a cinematic plea for “death with dignity” directed by Maine filmmaker Sharyn Paul Brusie.

Survivors include her father, Donald Lamson Gerow and stepmom, Suzanne Roy, of Lewiston; her mother, Claudia Hughes and stepdad, David LaGraffe, of South Portland; her brother, Mark Gerow and his sons, Haedyn and Finn; and her special friend, Nancy Littlefield.

At Jenn’s request, donations may be made to Island Dolphin Care in Key Largo, Fla. or to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
