RES gathering white copy paper

RUMFORD — Rumford Elementary School has designated October as “Bury the Bus” month.

A picture of a school bus is posted in the main lobby with a goal of burying the bus in paper. If the goal is met, the principal will color his moustache pink.

Community members can donate white copy paper at the school office on Lincoln Avenue or at the annual school craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Harvest supper Oct. 5 at Elks

RUMFORD — A harvest supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Rumford Elks Lodge No. 862, 60 River St.

Menu consists of ham, potatoes, carrots, turnip, onions, cabbage, squash, homemade rolls, apple crisp, coffee and tea.

Cost is $10. Take out will be available.

A visit from the state president and first lady Dwayne and Barbara Guy will take place. Music will be provided by Partytime DJs.
