BETHEL — Austin Roy led a trio of players to register goals Wednesday as St. Dom’s hustled to a 3-1 victory over Telstar in boys’ soccer action.

SJ Park and Cameron Stewart also tallied for the Saints to complete the scoring. Ben Sawyer made five saves to notch the win.

Nik Conrad scored the lone goal for Telstar, while Bronson Dean turned aside 14 shots between the posts.

Carrabec 4, Oak Hill 0

WALES — After taking a 1-0 lead in the first frame, Carrabec erupted for three goals after the break to come away with a 4-0 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ soccer action Wednesday.

Nicholas Sansone led the Cobras (3-4-1) with two goals, while Troy Dunphy and Nicholas Lebeau also tallied. Trent Richardson made six saves to preserve the shutout, while Kyle Field deflected 23 shots for the Raiders (0-9).

Lisbon 5, Mountain Valley 1

RUMFORD — Kyle Whitman netted a pair of goals to propel Lisbon to a 5-1 win over Mountain Valley in an MVC tilt Wednesday.

Zack Stevens, Mike Demaref and Austin Fournier also tallied for the Greyhounds to complete the scoring. Tucker Rowland scored the lone goal for Mountain Valley (1-7) in a solid effort.

Nate Bergeron made just two saves for Lisbon, while Dakota Jacques deflected 14 shots for the Falcons.

Messalonskee 6, Mt. Blue 0

FARMINGTON —  Brandon Nale led a group of five players to register goals as Messalonskee overpowered Mt. Blue, 6-0, in more KVAC boy’s soccer action Wednesday.

Will Couture, Quinn Warren, Eric Vanderkarr and Eliza Tuell also tallied for the Eagles (4-4-1). The sixth goal was an own-goal, where Mt. Blue inadvertently scored on itself.

Jonah Webb made 10 saves for Messalonskee, while Colton Lawrence deflected 10 shots between the posts for Mt. Blue (3-6).

Girl’s soccer

Fryeburg 2, Poland 0

FRYEBURG — Finding the net once in each half, Fryeburg rolled to a 2-0 midseason win over Poland in a WMC girls’ soccer tilt Wednesday. 

Orianga Inirio and Esme Hernandez each tallied for Fryeburg (3-3-2) in a low-scoring affair. Sydney Charles made six saves to preserve the shutout.

Erin Brewer turned aside five shots between the posts for Poland (4-4).

Men’s Soccer

UMF 4, USM 3

GORHAM — Freshman Kafou Doumbia scored in the 83rd minute to cap a run of three unanswered goals in a span of 23 minutes to give the University of Maine at Farmington a 4-3 victory over the University of Southern Maine in a non-conference men’s soccer match Wednesday.

Doumbia was in the right place at the right time as a misplayed USM clearing attempt ricocheted right to him 15 yards out from goal, and he slotted home a right-footed shot that proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Beavers (2-4-1) had to survive an anxious moment in the 86th minute when USM junior Nat LeBlanc struck the crossbar with a free kick, and rookie T.J. Reagan headed the rebound off the bar and out of play.

Tied 1-1 at the half, Southern Maine took command with a pair of goals five minutes apart. Junior Caleb Leino knocked home a pass from sophomore Michael Daniel after a quick restart in the 52nd minute. LeBlanc gave the Huskies (0-10-1) a two-goal margin five minutes later as he struck a 25-yard blast in the upper right corner.

UMF got right back into the match in the 61st minute as Doumbia played the ball across the top of the 18-yard box to sophomore Ryan Fairbanks who struck a shot past USM rookie goalkeeper Adam Verreault.

Sophomore Dahir Muktar equalized for the Beavers in the 72nd minute when his outside-of-the-foot shot from the right side curled inside the far post.
