1935 – 2013

LIVERMORE FALLS — Lawrence E. “Jiggs” Nichols “Jr.,” 78, of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 2, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Lawrence was born in Wilton on Aug. 26, 1935, a son of Lawrence E. and Lucille (Dorey) Nichols Sr. He attended local schools, graduating from Livermore Falls High School in 1953. He married his best friend, Patricia Mitchell, on March 10, 1962, in Silver Lake, N.H., and they spent 51 wonderful years together.

He worked most of his life in local shoe factories, and in his off time enjoyed Sunday morning card games with the boys, fishing, gardening and fairs. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of Livermore Falls; his two sons, Lawrence “Butch” Nichols III and his wife, JoAnn, of Rosenberg, Texas, and John E. Nichols and wife, Nicole, of Jay; four granddaughters, Nicole, Heidi, Kaitlyn and Emily; three great-grandsons, Justin, Brady and Reese; his sister, Virginia Davis of Jay; and special nephews whom he spent a lot of time with.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Leon and Stuart; and his sister, Donna.

He will be loved and missed by all.
