MONMOUTH — William “Bill” George Rowley, 58, of Monmouth, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, at his home.

He was born in Manchester, N.H., the son of Constance and Roger Rowley. Bill grew up in Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1978, and attended Southern Maine Technical College.

On June 13, 1988, he married Michelle Langley and they began their lives together, having two wonderful children.

Bill was employed for 25 years at Carleton Woolen Mills in Winthrop and later in life at New Image Awnings in Auburn. Bill loved playing basketball growing up, continuing to play in adult leagues for many years. He enjoyed ice fishing with his friends and family, and loved gardening and music. He was a kind and compassionate man.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Michelle Rowley of Monmouth; his son, Nicholas Rowley and his wife, Mary (Berry) Rowley, of Fayette; his daughter, Kara Rowley of Monmouth; his mother, Constance Rowley; sister, Candy Everett and her husband, Robert, of Winthrop; his brother, Roger Rowley of Manchester; his sister, Diana Noble and her husband, Cass, of Muncie, Ind.; nephews, Jake and Israel Everett; niece, Miranda Everett of Winthrop; and his childhood friend, Dennis Hanson of Winthrop.

Bill was predeceased by his father, Roger William Rowley, in 1968.

Bill was a loving father and husband, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
