The office where Lewiston-Auburn area residents get driver’s licenses and license plates will move from Maine Street to Canal Street, Lewiston, next week. “It’s primarily for the ease of customer access,” said John Wentworth, director of administrative services for the state Department of Motor Vehicles. “The parking is atrocious” at the Main and Chapel streets location that has held the office for 18 months, he added. Wentworth said the new office at 124 Canal St. will open next Tuesday. Driver’s license road tests will continue at the Main Street office until Oct. 14.
