FARMINGTON — Maxine E. Watson, 93, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born in 1920 in Farmington, the daughter of Fred and Gladys Whittier Sr. She was educated in the schools of Farmington. Maxine married Irvin Watson on March 8, 1947, and he passed on April 7, 1983.
As a young lady, she worked during corn season at local canning factories. She also cleaned houses for local people before finally working for UMF in the cafeteria for 16 years. Maxine was a member of the Farmington Historical Society, enjoyed crafts and reading.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Catherine Davis and her husband, Richard, of New Sharon; her sons, William Hiscock and his wife, Hazel, of Glenburn, and Reginald Watson and his significant other, Jolene, of Chesterville; five grandchildren, Richard Jr., James, Crystal, Becky and Allison; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Whittier of Farmington, and Paul Whittier and his wife, Betty, of Mt. Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; a brother, Stanley Whittier; and a sister, Ida Judkins.
