PARIS — Rehearsals for the 14th Christmas for Teens Benefit Show will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays starting Oct. 8 at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School music room.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in the auditorium. Snow date will be Dec. 14.

The Benefit Chorus will sing a variety of selections that are exciting, expressive, upbeat and reflective. Participants need to bring a pencil and be prepared to work hard and expect to be inspired.

The show will include community groups, school ensembles, soloists and dancers.

“During the show we will be using special effects, as well as a creative lighting plot, to enhance the visual aspects of the show. It will be a delightful evening to get everyone in the holiday spirit and provide much needed funding for teens in need,” said Cynthia Wescott, the chorus director and show coordinator.

Regarding rehearsals, she says that participants always leave uplifted and enthusiastic, qualities that carry through to the show.

“When we started this, the concert and other fundraisers helped about 50 kids from the SAD 17 towns,” Wescott said. “Now, that number has increased to over 170.”

“It isn’t just that we help provide presents for teens; we also offer hope and understanding for their plight,” she added.
