Jack Lapp, the noted catcher for the Athletics, and Mrs. Lapp are planning to come to Maine directly following the completion of the World’s Series and will be guests for a month of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Houser, at their farm in Litchfield. Jack Lapp, who has been with the Athletics for the last four years and is known among the baseball fans as Cy Coomb’s battery mate, was catcher in the game Wednesday. It is also expected that Fritz Maisel of Baltimore, who was recently sold for the fabulous amount of $12,000 and two players by Baltimore to the Highlanders, will visit at the Houser farm this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Houser were in Lewiston, Wednesday, and took in the World’s Series at the Lewiston Journal office, Mr. Houser being especially interested because of his connection with the Philadelphia Athletics in the series of 1910, when that team won. As is well known, Mr. Houser has just completed a successful season with the Baltimore team and has returned to his home in Litchfield to remain thru the winter.
