OAKLAND — Mikayla Norcross used a Francesca-Beth Haines’ feed and scored the game-winning goal in the first half as Edward Little held on for a 1-0 victory over Messalonskee (3-6) in a girls’ soccer game Tuesday.
 
EL (7-4) goalie Molly Murray kept Messalonskee out of net, making eight saves. The Red Eddies outshot Messalonskee, 15-10.

Poland 3, NYA 1

POLAND — Poland made quick work, scoring three times in the first half, as it edged North Yarmouth Academy 3-1 in girls’ varsity soccer action.

Sisters Emily and Sarah Bolduc each tallied a goal on the day, while teammate Sarah Walton found the back of the net for the Knights (5-5). Erin Brewer made six saves on the day for Poland, while her counterpart Scout Fishman, stopped 11 shots for the Panthers (4-4-2).

St. Dom’s 3, Oak Hill 0
AUBURN — Faith Grady let loose on offense and punched in three goals as St. Dom’s (9-1-1) dismissed Oak Hill (4-5-1) with a 3-0 victory in a girls’ soccer game Tuesday.
 
Grady got one in the first half and added two more with help from an assist by Emily Caron in the second half.
 
The Saints were outshot 19-11, but Saints goalie Kelly Pomerleau kept a vigil in net and made 16 saves to preserve her shutout.

Brunswick 2, Oxford Hills 0
BRUNSWICK —  Brunswick managed to find the net in each half and held strong on defense to post a 2-0 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup Tuesday.

Kira Wolpow and Julia Champagne each tallied for the Dragons, while Haley Murano made eight saves to preserve the shutout. Sam Bickford deflected eight shots between the posts for Oxford Hills.

Richmond 2, Rangeley 1
RANGELEY —  Kelsey Anair tallied with just 37 seconds left in the second overtime to give Richmond a 2-1 win over Rangeley in an EWC girls’ soccer tilt Tuesday.

Anair grabbed a rebound that was batted out, got through a scrum and fired her shot from the left side. Tori Letarte gave the injury-plagued Lakers (4-5-1) a 1-0 advantage 11 minutes into the contest. Kayla Beaulieau also tallied for the Bobcats (9-1) to complete the scoring.

Kelsey Obie made seven saves for Richmond, while Taylor Estes turned aside an impressive 34 shots for Rangley.

Mt. Blue 4, Skowhegan 0

SKOWHEGAN — Miranda Nicely netted a pair of goals to lift Mt. Blue past Skowhegan 4-0 in girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Savannah Swain and Eryn Dorian added a goal each on the day for the Cougars (5-4-2), while Dorian supplied two assists as well. Andrea Quirion and Shawna Quimby split time in net for the Indians (0-10), making a combined 10 saves. 

Mt. Abram 3, Telstar 2
SALEM —  Katie Jordan scored off a cross with 3:02 remaining in overtime as Mt. Abram edged Telstar 3-2 in girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Risa Marble gave the Roadrunners (5-5-0) a 2-0 advantage early in the contest. Maddie Prentice tallied for the Rebels (0-9-2) with 15:26 in the first frame to make it 2-1 battle. Prentice scored again early in the second frame to create a 2-2 deadlock.

Allie Lopez made just a single save for Mt. Abrams, while Tehya Johnson deflected eight shots for Telstar.

Boys’ soccer

Dirigo 2, Lisbon 1

DIXFIELD — Randy DeRoche fired a pair of goals into the back of the net, giving Dirigo the edge as the Cougars topped Lisbon 2-1 in MVC boys’ soccer action.

Justin Grignon paced the Cougars (3-6), making five saves on the day. Kyle Whitman scored the lone goal for the Greyhounds (4-4-2), while Nate Bergeron turned back four shots in net.

Monmouth 9, Telstar 0

MONMOUTH — Kyle Fletcher led the Mustang offense, netting three goals and registering three assists, as Monmouth routed Telstar 9-0 in an MVC boys’ soccer game Tuesday.

Hunter Richardson worked right along side Fletcher, netting two goals and two assists himself. Joe Menice, Casey Clement, Josh Neal and Mathew Foulke all supplied a goal as well for the Mustangs (5-3). Bronson Dean had an active day in net for the Rebels (2-7), stopping 14 shots on 23 attempts. 

Mt. Abram 8, Oak Hill 0
SALEM — Chris Daily and Keegan Rolbiecki each scored two goals as Mt. Abram walloped Oak Hill, 8-0, in a boys’ soccer game Tuesday.
 
By halftime, the Roadrunners (8-2) were leading 6-0. Patrick Banahan, Amos Withee, Quentin Hannah and Luke Romanoski each scored a goal for Mt. Abram.

Field hockey

Mt. Ararat 4, Lewiston 1

TOPSHAM — Carly Raymond led the Eagles (6-7), scoring twice and assisting both other goals, as Mt. Ararat topped Lewiston 4-1 in KVAC field hockey action.

Raymond connected with Kristen Pierce and Caitlin LaFountain to complete the scoring for the red-hot Eagles offense. Renee Rossignol paced Mt. Ararat, stopping 14 shots on 15 attempts.

Shaima Naji scored the lone goal for the Blue Devils (2-9), while Kaylyn Labonte had a busy day in net, making 26 saves. 

Oxford Hills 4, Edward Little 0

AUBURN — Oxford Hills utilized four different scorers as the Vikings cruised past Edward Little 4-0 in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday.

Kaitlynn Drake, Hayley Wakefield, Whitney Morse and Abby Angevine all found the back of the net for the Vikings (8-4). The offense meshed really well together, with all four goals being assisted by a teammate.

Karli Stubbs made nine saves in net for the Eddies (0-12).
