AUBURN — James A. Taylor, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Hospice House. He was a resident of Swett Avenue in Mexico.
Born in Mexico on May 17, 1925, he was the son of James Henry and Mary (Ludington) Taylor. He attended Mexico schools and worked in the instrument department at Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford, until his retirement in 1986, after more than 42 years.
James was a member of the Napoleon Ouellette Post 24 American Legion. He was an avid coin collector and loved to read anything historical.
He was married in Dixfield on Dec. 21, 1992, to Rosemary Jodrey, who survives him, of Mexico. Other survivors include three daughters, Jeanne Magyar and her husband, Robert, of Meriden, Conn., Brenda Perreault and her husband, Ron, of Auburn and Cynthia Gould and her companion, Dana Bartlett, of Dixfield; a son, James Taylor Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Madeira, Fla.; stepsons, Duayne Jodrey and his wife, Linda, of Andover and George Casivant and his wife, Jennifer, of Portland; a sister, Joyce McKenna of Rumford; and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
