1942 – 2013

AUBURN — Nancy R. Dube, 71, a longtime resident of Lewiston, died Wednesday, July 31, at the Hospice House in Auburn, with her family and friends by her side.

She was born in Skowhegan on June 6, 1942, the daughter of Phillip and Blanche LaVallee Veilleux. She married Laurent Dube in 1971 and together they raised three daughters. She was educated in Skowhegan, until she moved to Lewiston in 1959, and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1960.

After graduation, she worked for Raytheon in Lewiston, before moving to Southington, Conn., where she spent five years. In 1968, she returned to Lewiston and went to work for General Electric, where she stayed for 25 years, retiring in 1997.

Nancy loved working in her flower beds, cooking for family and friends and taking trips to the ocean with her family. Her favorite pastime was caring for her precious grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to California and Florida with Laurent, after retirement. She enjoyed a lifelong friendship with Dora Garneau of Lisbon, which included weekly games of Scrabble. Felecia Graham of Lisbon was like another daughter to Nancy. Above all, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be missed more than she could have imagined.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Laurent Dube of Lewiston; her devoted children, Cathy and husband, Keith Pray, of Lewiston, Theresa Edwards of Lewiston and Michelle and husband, Fred Morgan, of Augusta; three special grandchildren, Carolyn, Tyler and Jennifer; two sisters, Laurette and husband, Bob Douin, of Hudson, Fla., and Jeannette Turcotte of Gardena, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
