1. Cheverus (5-0)

Stags haven’t been tested since opening night. You can bet they’ll get one Saturday, even with TA’s Andrew Libby in street clothes.

2. Brunswick (5-0)

Messalonskee, Lawrence and Kennebunk are left. If the Dragons are to secure their first undefeated season since 1963, they’ll surely earn it.

3. Bonny Eagle (5-0)

Massabesic should be more of a tune-up game than a trap game for the Scots, who travel to Saco for a big one next week.

4. Portland (4-1)

Bulldogs have the healthy swagger that comes from knowing they might flaunt the deepest and most talented offense in Class A.

5. Thornton (4-1)

Schedule has been kind to the Trojans since they lost their leader on the opening play of opening night. We’re going to learn more about the supporting cast now.

6. Kennebunk (5-0)

If there is a football program in Maine happier than the Rams with where they fit into the new puzzle, we’d like to meet them.

7. Cony (4-1)

“Only” 196 yards and three touchdowns through the air for Ben Lucas in a 31-12 win at Skowhegan.

8. Marshwood (4-1)

Hawks put up 40 on the road against a very good Messalonskee team. We can only hope they exercise charity against Gorham.

9. South Portland (4-1)

Short road trip to Scarborough won’t be an easy one for the Riots, but it’s a big one if they want that first-round playoff bye.

10. Leavitt (5-0)

Hornets aim to stay sharp and healthy for Wells-Spruce Mountain finishing kick.
