March against biotech foods
PORTLAND — On National Food Day, Saturday, Oct. 12, a peaceful march against biotech GMO foods will be held at 2 p.m. in Market Square.
There will be a GMO-free picnic before the rally.

Retired Educators meet Oct. 21
NEW SHARON — The Franklin County Retired Educators will hold their October meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the New Sharon Methodist Church.
The program will be the annual auction to raise funds for their rotating Grant in Schools. This year’s grant recipient will be from the Mt. Blue RSU. Bring an item or two to auction and be prepared to bid on others.
Lunch will be $12.50 and must be reserved from any member of the FCRE.
