Patrick Dempsey appeared on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday to drum up support for breast cancer research ahead of the Dempsey Challenge this weekend.

Dempsey began the show by plugging the 200th episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” before appearing on stage wearing a pink bathrobe.

Two members of the group Fall Out Boy, who performed on the show, were on hand to take part in Ellen’s recurring game, Aim for the Cure. A board with pink balloons in the shape of a ribbon were set up on stage across from a table with bows and arrows.

Dempsey stripped down to a T-shirt and shorts to the delight of the mostly female audience before being led to a chair inside an enclosed Plexiglas tank. For every pink balloon shot by the band members, $1,000 would go to breast cancer research. If the white balloon in the center got shot, Dempsey would be doused with water from above.

In the 60 seconds given the band members, four pink balloons were shot, as well as the white balloon, soaking good sport Dempsey.
