WALES — Kyle Whitman netted two second-half goals for Lisbon (5-4-2), as the Greyhounds topped Oak Hill 2-0 in boys’ MVC soccer action Friday.

Greyhounds keeper Nate Bergeron stopped all five shots for the shutout, while his counterpart Kyle Field made 20 saves for the Raiders (0-11-1).

Winthrop 2, Dirigo 0

WINTHROP — Jacob Hickey and Sebastian Pettit tallied a goal each in the first half, as Winthrop edged past Dirigo 2-0 in boys’ MVC soccer.

Pat Ouellette and Brendon Baxter added in an assist each for the Ramblers (2-9-1), while Matt Sekarek made six saves in net for the win.

Justin Grignon stopped nine shots in net for the Cougars (5-6-1).

Mt. Abram 4, Spruce Mtn. 1

SALEM — With the score 1-0 in favor of the visitors three minutes into the game, Mt. Abram’s offense erupted to score four unanswered goals as they topped Spruce Mtn. 4-1 in MVC soccer action.

Bryson Walker led the Roadrunners (9-2), tallying two goals and an assist while teammates Arthur Ryan and Colin McCarthy-Edwards added a goal each.

Adam Gettle netted the lone goal for the Phoenix (6-4-1), while Dustin Jones made 14 saves on 18 shots in net.

Field Hockey

Falmouth 3, Poland 1

POLAND — Falmouth utilized three different scorers to give them the edge as they slipped past Poland 3-1 in WMC field hockey action.

Jillian Rothweler, Kim Keunicro and Haylay Winslow all tallied goals for the Yachtsmen (10-2), while Hilary Wash had a near perfect day in net, stopping 13 shots.

Mary Everett scored the only goal for Poland while Liz Callahan turned back 10 shots in net for the Knights (2-11).

Telstar 3, St. Dom’s 1

BETHEL — Becca Howard led the Telstar offense netting two goals as they topped St. Dom’s 3-1 in MVC field hockey action Friday.

Savanna Patenaude found the back of the net and tallied an assist on the day for the Rebels (5-8), while Hali Barter made 11 saves in net for the win.

Callie Greco scored the lone goal for the Saints (3-10), while Taylor Bergeron had an active day in net stopping 18 shots. 

Spruce Mtn. 9, Boothbay 0

JAY — Kayla Meserve rattled in three goals for the hat trick as the Phoenix flew past Boothbay 9-0 in MVC field hockey action Friday.

Nicole Hamblin had a busy day on offense, tallying two goals while assisting four. LaDesta Tracy, Brooke Cushing, Mariah Castonguay and Randi Duguay all tallied a goal on the day for the Phoenix (12-0-1).

Leavitt 1, Waterville 0

TURNER —  Brianna DeGone scored the lone goal in the game to lift Leavitt to a 1-0 victory over Waterille in field hockey action Friday evening.

Meagan Dow had an outstanding game, covering a lot of ground for the Hornets (10-3) and setting up several scoring opportunities. Emily Shaw assisted on DeGone’s goal.

Goalie Rachel Bergeron made five saves for the Panthers (5-7-1), while Sierra Santomango prevented three to earn the win in net for Leavitt.
