The only thing we have to fear is . . .

It’s the middle of the night and something just creaked in the attic. The closet door swung open on its own and you swear you heard a low chuckle from beneath the bed. That stuff doesn’t scare you, though. Snarling dogs or creeping spiders, now those things are scary! Or maybe its heights, or flying, or the prospect of getting married.

As utterly mortal beings, we are afraid of a whole range of things, some of them perfectly logical, some of them just a step above superstition.
