- Pickleball, an indoor alternative for tennis which combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong, is now being offered to adults at the Farmington Community Center. On Tuesday and Thursdays, beginners and social players have the courts from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A more competitive game begins at 7:30 p.m., when a low net and paddles that are like “ping-pong paddles on steroids” are used, said Steve Shible, director of Farmington Recreation. Pictured playing from left are Chris Silva, Jessica Gleason, Mike Fogg (serving) and Bob Cavaliere. For more information, call 778-3464.
