PORTLAND — The Portland Symphony Orchestra will welcome the Brubeck Brothers Quartet for a PSO Pops! concert featuring the music of Dave Brubeck. There will be two performances of the concert at Merrill Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3.

The quartet includes Chris and Dan Brubeck, sons of Dave, and the evening will feature some of their father’s famous jazz hits including “Take Five,” “Unsquare Dance,” and “Blue Rondo a la Turk.” Concert selections will also include “Black and Blue,” “In Your Own Sweet Way,” and “We’re Still in Love After All These Years.” The orchestra will be led by PSO conductor Robert Moody.

Experienced in collaborating with orchestras, the group’s creativity and improvisation promises an unforgettable night of classic hits while embracing the spontaneity of jazz.

Chris Brubeck will also join the PSO for two Youth Concert performances on Monday, Nov. 4.
