GRAY — Two people were arrested late Wednesday evening after drugs were found in their vehicle during a traffic stop, according to police.

Alyssa Ashley Johnson, 24, of Chelsea and Adam Uldall, 32, of Poland are both accused of possession of a schedule W drug, according to Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Police learned shortly after 11:30 p.m. that the suspects’ vehicle, which was heading north on the Maine Turnpike, was believed to be carrying narcotics, according to Goulet.

Sheriff’s deputies pulled the vehicle over on the Route 26A bypass shortly after it exited the Turnpike, according to Goulet, and a K9 unit responded to the scene as well.

The dog was able to sniff out drugs, and deputies recovered 100 Oxycodone tablets and 28 bags of heroin, along with $1,300 in cash.

Johnson and Uldall were both arrested and brought to Cumberland County Jail, where they remained Thursday morning.
