LIVERMORE FALLS — Pumpkins will light up Foundry Road that passes by the Recreation Field during a Pumpkin Walk from dusk to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27.

Children can carve pumpkins from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Livermore Falls Fire Station.

There will be one-way traffic both nights on the road. It will begin behind the Town Office and will exit on to Park Street/Routes 133 and 17 at Shuy Corner.

Most people walk, but since some cannot do that, the one-way traffic gives people the opportunity to drive through to see the pumpkins, according to Janice Sweeney, manager of the event sponsor, Hillside Sports Club in Jay.

“We are trying to get as many pumpkins as we can to line the road,” she said.

They have 100 pumpkins, but some are being given away to day cares and other organizations.

Donations of pumpkins can be left at the fire station through Saturday.

Anyone or any organization that has already carved pumpkins and want to display them along the road can do that, she said, and they can take them home after.

Mulled cider and cookies will be served.

The Livermore Falls Fire Department is also collecting blankets to give to fire victims. The blankets can be dropped off at the station as well.
