TURNER — SAD 52 Adult and Community Education will present Ayurveda 101, a practice from India and Yoga’s sister science that focuses on maintaining balanced wellness. A workshop will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, to learn about the Doshic Prakruti mind/body/spirit type.
A Maine Driving Dynamics Class will take place Saturday, Nov. 2. There will be discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes and the basic elements that challenge drivers. Students completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.
Elementary-age children are invited to explore theatrical performing through theater games, improvisation, and storytelling. Children’s Theater Session for grades K-two starts Monday, Nov. 4, and for grades four-six on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Each session will end with a performance at the LAHS Auditorium.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga also starts Nov. 6. It is a breath-powered movement class that incorporates elements of Tai Chi, Yoga and Shiva Rea’s Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Experience increased flexibility, clarity of mind and deep relaxation. Modifications for those with physical limitations. Bring a water bottle, yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing.
Zumba® Toning Session 2 starts Thursday, Nov. 7. Learn how to use lightweight toning sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all the target areas, including arms, abs and thighs.
ServSafe® Course is a food safety, training and certification program. It is a key ingredient to help food service operations keep their customers and employees safe. ServSafe® training also helps participants understand and identify all the food safety risks in an operation and provides knowledge to do the job. This is a two-day class to be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 and 9.
