People have heard the the expression,”His record speaks for itself” so many times it has become a cliche; however, in the Lewiston mayoral race, it is true of both candidates.
Larry Gilbert Sr. is a man devoted to public service. He has been a man who openly embraces the peoples of all cultures. I have seen him at different functions speak to Somali people using what few words he knows in their language, which always brings warm smiles and sometimes laughter, but he seeks to show them they are part of this community.
I have worked for and with Gilbert and know him for his fairness, honesty and reasonableness.
