1928 – 2013
WEST PARIS — George W. Sampson Jr., 85, formerly of Lisbon, died Saturday, Oct. 26, at Ledgeview Living Center.
He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 31, 1928, the son of George and Gladys M. Phinney Sampson Sr. George attended area schools and worked at various jobs over his lifetime.
He enjoyed going to flea markets, where he would buy, sell and trade many items. George also served in the National Guard. On June 27, 1958, he married Barbara Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of West Paris; three sons, Stephen and his wife, Marie, of Lewiston, Richard of Florida, and William of Lewiston; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Tina Wilbanks of Daytona Beach, Fla., Bea Pierce of Livermore Falls and Maxine Ames of Buxton.
