1937 – 2013

WEST PARIS — M. Jeanne Blunda, 76, of Ridge Road in Peru, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, at Ledgeview Living Center following a long illness.

She was born in Rumford on May 29, 1937, a daughter of Omer and Mabel (Knox) Garneau. Jeanne was educated in Peru and Dixfield schools and was a graduate of Dixfield High School.

She was owner and operator of Riverside Diner and Silvertone Restaurant for many years. Jeanne loved knitting, crocheting, gardening, crafts, traveling and was a member of the Red Hat Chili Mama’s.

She is survived by a son, Kevin E. Stanley and wife, Nora, of Peru; two sisters, Priscilla Hilgenburg of Florida and Beverly Powell of Jay; and two grandchildren Hannah and Mitchel Stanley.

Jeanne was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Charles Stanley; her second husband, Rick DiPompo; and her third husband, Vito Blunda; a sister, Frances Moffett; and four brothers, Cleston, John, Marshall and Omer Garneau.

The family would like to offer a special thank-you to Androscoggin Home Health, the staff at the Hospice House and Ledgeview Living Center and Dr. Sean Callender. Also a special thanks to caregivers Cheryl Wade, Bailey Keating, Jane Porter, Donna Richard and Becky Cote for the wonderful care given to Jeanne.
