Seniors to hold sale, luncheon

PERU — Rumford Seniors will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Old Peru School.

There will be kitchen items, table and chairs, single chairs, CD player, computer tables and odd and ends. For more information, call 562-7700.

The group will hold a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the school. The menu will include baked chicken, mashed potato, carrots, drink and dessert at a cost of $4.50. To sign up, call 562-7700.

Eagles to sponsor auction

RUMFORD — Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary will have an evening auction to raise money for kidney research on Saturday, Nov. 2. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the auction following at 7. Admission is free.

Women’s health day at hospital

RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital and the Rumford Hospital Physician Group will hold a Maine Breast and Cervical Health Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Rumford Hospital.

For eligible women, the day will offer a free physical exam, pap test and screening mammogram. The program is available to all women over the age of 40 who qualify for the Maine Breast and Cervical Program.

In addition to age minimum, qualifications for the program include women who have no insurance or whose insurance does not cover mammograms or pap test, or insurance that has high deductible or co-pay costs. They must also meet 2013 income limits.

Women are encouraged to inquire about eligibility for the program even if they are otherwise unable to take advantage of the Nov. 9 event.
