Free community luncheon Nov. 9

FARMINGTON — Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at 227 Main St.

Menu includes turkey fricassee, mashed potatoes, green peas, cranberry sauce and chocolate cake.

For delivery in the Farmington area, call 778-0424 during the week or 778-4438 the morning of the luncheon.

Misled Posse performs Nov. 9

PHILLIPS — The Phillips Area Community Center Local Music Series presents Misled Posse at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

The band features Ben Ellis on guitar and Jodi Spencer Ellis on vocals (from South Carthage), and Kirk Duguay on bass with Andrea Duguay on drums (from Turner). It plays cover tunes, classic and contemporary rock, some slow pop and some songs with a country flair.

Music starts at 7 and ends around 9; admission is $8 adults, $6 students, $4 children under 12, with a $1 discount for Leaders of the PACC. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Leavitt plans annual craft fair

TURNER — Leavitt Area High School will hold its 37th annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

More than 100 crafters will participate.

The Performing Arts will provide food for lunch and snacks.

All proceeds will benefit Leavitt activities.

Christmas Craft Fair is Nov. 9

TURNER — The Universalist Ladies Circle of Turner will hold a Christmas Craft Fair from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Universalist Church Vestry, Route 117 in Turner Center.

There will be crafts, baked goods, white elephants (including Christmas items) and a lunch of hot dogs and soup.

Menu includes French toast, hash browns, eggs, sausage, bacon, baked beans, coffee and orange juice for $6.

Genealogical Society meets

WILTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, Maine Genealogical Society, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Wilton Historical Society house.

Pie orders at Christmas Bazaar

NEW SHARON — To order a pie at the New Sharon United Methodist Church Woman’s Society Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 16, call Nora Thombs at 778-2215 before Nov. 10.

Orders for 9-inch pies for $12 will be taken, and the kinds will include apple, pumpkin, blackberry, strawberry rhubarb, peach custard or blueberry. Pies may be picked up at the Nov. 16 sale.

FARMINGTON — The Clearwater Homemakers will meet for an animal shelter shower at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Shorey Chapel.

RANGELEY — The Rangeley Congregational Church, UCC will offer a contemplative worship service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in “The Barn” on High Street.

Members will use light, music, song and silence to help all reflect on things to be grateful for.

Lobster stew luncheon Nov. 15

FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks Union Church will hold a lobster stew luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15.

The luncheon includes lobster stew, biscuit, pumpkin dessert and cream, and coffee/tea beverages. For delivery within five miles of the church, call the church at 778-4705. The donation for the luncheon is $9.
