LISBON — Voters on Tuesday rejected a $1 million bond issue to buy the vacant Worumbo Mill to make space for economic development or a town park. The unofficial vote was 984 to 2,414.

Voters also defeated a $1.75 million bond issue for the Water Department to construct a water tank. The vote was 1,238 to 1,942.

The third bond issue, $650,000 for the Water Department to replace 4,300 feet of water main on Frost Hill Avenue and Old Lisbon Road, was approved by a vote of 1,812 to 1,370.

In municipal voting, the only contested race was for the School Committee. Traci Jo Austin won with 2,318 votes; George Paul Caron got 1,726, according to unofficial results.

In unopposed races, Christopher Brunelle was elected town councilor at large; Eric Glen Metivier will represent District 1 and Roger Stanley Bickford will serve District 2. William Alex Bauer was elected to the Water Commission.
