1912 – 2013

AUBURN — Marguerite P. Langelier, 101, of Schooner Estates in Auburn, died in her residence on Monday, Nov. 4.

Born in Lewiston on June 29, 1912, she was the daughter of Adelard and Lumina Levesque Langelier. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Jordan High School, Class of 1930. After graduation, she worked for several years as a clerk at Peck’s Department Store and then spent more than 30 years as the office manager for her brother-in-law, Dr. Maurice Brien. Following Dr. Brien’s retirement, she went to work for the city of Lewiston for three years, before retiring herself.

In her later years, she lived with her sisters and together they traveled all over the country. A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by two cousins, Pauline Levesque Gilbert and husband, Robert, and Edward Levesque, all of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Madeleine Langelier, Marthe and husband, Maurice Brien, M.D., and Therese Langelier.

The family thanks the staff of Schooner Estates and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Services, especially Dr. Margaret Matthews, for all the loving care they gave Marguerite during her final illness.
