FARMINGTON — The Mount Blue Area Garden Club presents guest speaker Lisa Colburn, author of “The Maine Garden Journal – Insider secrets from Maine people who love to put their hands in the dirt.” The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 612 Farmington Falls Ave. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Colburn’s presentation discusses how gardeners throughout Maine contributed to and assisted in the creation of her book. She talks about the most-recommended trees, shrubs, perennials, spring bulbs, tropical plants, as well as houseplants. She reveals the best garden centers in the state but also notes why Maine gardeners order many plants from online and print catalogs. Garden tours, garden art and more are discussed in this whirlwind tour of many Maine garden-related topics.

Colburn will be on hand to autograph the books and talk about gardening. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Hostesses will be Bonnie Parlin, Peg Lang and Helen Wilkey. For more information, call 645-2067.
