MEXICO — A local man was charged Friday morning with selling oxycodone near a day care center, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency supervisor Matt Cashman said.
Casey Senn, 27, of 3 Cherry St., was arrested on a charge of aggravated trafficking in a scheduled drug. His bail was set at $12,000 and he was transported to the Oxford County Jail in Paris.
Cashman said Senn had been the subject of an MDEA investigation that also involved John R. Gallant, 19, of Peru, who was arrested in May and indicted in August on a charge of trafficking oxycodone and cocaine. He said Senn, Gallant and others were significant distributors in the River Valley from 2011 to 2013.
“In our investigation, an undercover MDEA agent, posing as a drug customer, purchased oxycodone from Senn,” Cashman said in a news release. Senn had been selling oxycodone tablets from his home on Cherry Street, which is within 1,000 feet of a day care and the Mexico Recreation Center, he said.
Additional felony drug trafficking charges are expected against Senn, Cashman said.
A conviction for aggravated trafficking in oxycodone carries as a minimum mandatory four-year prison sentence.
Cashman said the Police Department assisted with the arrest.
