An Associated Press article in the Sun Journal Nov. 8 referred to an apology from Barack Obama. He said that he was sorry that people have lost or will lose their health care insurance.
A quick re-reading of his confusing quote will reveal that he is not apologizing. He is expressing sympathy with someone else’s misfortune. For instance, “I am sorry that your dog died.”
He is not expressing regret.
