Harvest supper aids Smile Fund
BETHEL — A community harvest supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at West Parish Congregational Church UCC, 32 Church St.
Menu includes baked ham, baked beans and all the fixings. Cost is $10.
Proceeds will benefit the Smile Fund, a dental program for adults in the SAD 44 region.

Free community turkey dinner
OXFORD — The Rock House Teen Center and Bridge of Hope Pentecostal Church will hold its second annual free community turkey dinner from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at 254 Webber Brook Road.
Drawings will be held for free turkey dinner baskets.
The meal is prepared by staff and volunteers.
All ages are welcome.

International Games Day
PARIS — The Paris Public Library will join hundreds of libraries throughout the country and the world on Saturday, Nov. 16, for the sixth annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ your library. The library will offer a variety of games suitable for the whole family.
From 10 a.m. to 3 pm, game day participants will be able to sample an assortment of board, card and dice games, including two new games, “Tapple” and “Crossways,” both donated by USAopoly.
The American Library Association is a primary sponsor of International Games Day, as games encourage interaction between family and community members, teach concentration and strategic thinking, and promote technical reading skills.

Finnish-American Heritage Society
WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
A brief business meeting will be followed by a coffee social and the showing of the video, “The Immigrants.”
The play was created and performed by Society members in 1990 with each character drawing on their family history.
The public is invited. The center is handicap accessible.
Potluck, meeting at Hist. Soc.
WEST PARIS — West Paris Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18.
A potluck supper will be followed by a short business meeting at 7 p.m.
Butch Maleski and his wife Carol, who own Boon Dockers Knife Manufacturing in North Paris, will speak about making and marketing his products.
The program for the October meeting was a picture show by Milt Inman of past, present and some humorous people, places and landscapes.
The hunters’ breakfast was a success. Ani Inman won the black powder rifle.

Holiday story times
PARIS — The Paris Public Library will offer special story times for toddlers and preschoolers on Thursday afternoons during the holiday season.
In addition to the library’s regular story times at 10 a.m. on Thursday mornings, the library will begin these programs at 1 p.m. for the Thursdays of Nov. 21, Dec. 5, 12 and 19. During the programs, children will enjoy holiday stories, do crafts and share activities around a seasonal theme. Besides offering family fun, the program introduce pre-literacy concepts and practices.

Community potluck supper
WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House will hold a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on Plummer Hill Road behind the village green next door to the church. All are welcome.
Community suppers are held on the third Thursday of each month through May. The hosts for this supper are Ginny and Denny Raymond and Tony and Donna Butterall

First U. chicken pie supper
WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris will hold its annual chicken pie supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
Menu includes mashed potatoes, peas, squash, cranberry sauce, dessert pies, coffee, tea, punch and water.
Meal tickets go on sale at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
Raffle tickets will be on sale for a quilt handcrafted by church members. Other craft items will be on sale in the Ladies’ Parlor.
