Museum L-A’s new exhibit, “Courage, Grit, and Price: L-A’s Connection to World War I and II,” opened on Nov. 8 in advance of Veterans’ Day commemorations. One of the exhibit’s sections features Iwo Jima, 1945 as told by

, pictured, of A Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Regiment, 5th Division, USMC in his memoir, “A True Story of Valor, Bravery, and Courage.” This personal story is told by a man who survived one of the bloodiest conflicts in the nation’s history and who stood at the base of “Iwo” to watch the flag raising. The exhibit is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m. The museum is at 25 Canal St., Lewiston, in the Bates Mill Complex. For more information, call 207-333-3881.
