FRYEBURG — A Nov. 12 structure fire in Fryeburg has been ruled an arson and investigators are seeking help from the public.

In a news release from the Fryeburg Police Department, Detective Sgt. Joshua Potvin said the department is working with the State Fire Marshal’s Office in gathering evidence at the home at 61 Belair Estates.

Potvin said the fire is believed to be connected to recent burglaries in the area, but the unoccupied home did not appear to be burglarized.

Potvin said patrols have been increased in the East Fryeburg area.

“Residents in the East Fryeburg area can rest assured that we are doing everything we can to ensure their safety and bring those responsible for these crimes to justice,” Potvin said. “We are still urging residents, visitors and those passing through to remain extra vigilant and report any suspicious foot or vehicular traffic.”

Those with information regarding these crimes are encouraged to contact Potvin at 207-935-3323.
