1930 – 2013
AUBURN — Rejeanne Perron Paradis, 83, of Farmington, passed away peacefully with all of her family present on Sunday evening, Nov. 17, at the Hospice House, after having a stroke.
She was born in Chisholm on May 27, 1930, a daughter and one of nine children of Aurelien and Florence (Simoneau) Perron. She graduated in 1948 from Jay High School and worked in the local shoe shop. On a blind date where the couples went bowling, she met Nelson Paradis. They were married on Aug. 22, 1959. Following their marriage, they made their home in Farmington where they raised their four children. Mr. Paradis died on July 22, 2001.
Jeanne was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Her passions included her family, the Boston Red Sox, board and card games and bowling, which she enjoyed until her stroke. She will be remembered as the first person to bowl at the bowling alley when it first opened. She volunteered at Franklin Memorial Hospital for many years, where she worked in the gift shop, “retiring” when she was 80 years old.
Jeanne is survived by her four children, Marlene Barrett and her husband, Peter, of Plaistow, N.H., Ronald Paradis and his wife, Theresa, of Alta, Wyo., James Paradis and his wife, Bethany, of Minot and Robert Paradis and his wife, Dr. Yvonne DeCory, of Saco; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Barrett, Jessica Barrett, Emily Barrett, Nelson Paradis, Taryn Paradis, Hannah Paradis and Aaron Paradis; five sisters, Jeannine Williams and her husband, James “Jim,” of Livermore, Annette Richard and her husband, Gerard “Zeke,” of Jay, Pauline Barrutia of Mountain Home, Idaho, Claudette Warren of Fayetteville, Ark., and Vivian Flagg of Brandon, Fla.; one brother, Paul Perron and his wife, Judy, of Parsippany, N.J.; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Roger Perron and Aline Fawcett.
