1963 – 2013
LEWISTON — Beloved and devoted father, husband, son, brother, employer and friend to many, Marc R. St. Hilaire passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, very unexpectedly.
He was born in Lewiston to Louise Dube Poulin and Raymond St. Hilaire on May 1, 1963. Marc graduated from Lewiston High School in 1981. He met the love of his life, Debra Ann (Gagnon), and they married on May 17, 1986. They enjoyed an active lifestyle as best friends, while traveling extensively through the years and sharing mutual interests such as snowmobiling, golfing and taking long, scenic drives. Many of these were accompanied by their lovely children, Brooke Jenica Joy and Ashley Nicole Eng, and their loving husbands.
Marc would want to be remembered as a passionate sports and game enthusiast. He was famous for his quick wit and “talk smack” style of healthy competition. He excelled at so many things, such as Ping Pong, card games and anything involving strategies. He was always happiest when playing one of his three most favorite sports of golf, basketball and football.
Amazingly, Marc passed in the midst of doing his absolute favorite activity (football) with his two sons-in-law, George Eng and Eric Joy, and his wife of 27 years, Debra Ann, and daughters looking on. This is considered a blessing to all who knew him, as he wouldn’t have had it any other way.
He excelled at many other things, including the operations of his businesses, Quality Glass, where he was the owner with his wife for more than 8 years and Mend-A-Body Solutions, where he was vice president to his wife for four years. Marc also impressed many with his ability to mentor and assist in educating others in many ways, including acting as a coach and superior role model to many, including his own children, for many seasons in basketball. He has also coached football and softball for other team youth sports.
He will be fondly remembered for his sentimental side of including his dog, Braylon, as a feature to his leisure and business activities. Also, for his soft spot for children and all animals, including his grandpuppies, Milo, Nugget and Cali.
He is also survived by his stepfather, Donald J. Poulin; siblings, Gary St. Hilaire and partner, Linda Theriault, Lisa Morin and husband, Todd, and Jeffrey St. Hilaire and wife, Jessica; stepsiblings, Mark Poulin, Joline LaPerriere and Donna Allen; godson and nephew, Kameron Morin; along with many nieces, nephews, friends, teammates and his Quality Glass crew, Tim, Jeff, Michelle, Brittany, Gerry, Jared, Shane and Mike.
