PARIS — Linda Hooker is running for election on the Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.
Hooker lives in Oxford and is the owner of Hooker Farm. She recently retired from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, where she held the position of administrative assistant for many years, to go back to her first love: farming.
Hooker said she feels strongly about land and water conservation and believes she has utilized her hayfields and woodlots to maximize their potential while slowing down erosion and washouts.
She feels it is important to educate the younger generation on land conservation and also to teach them to work with other agencies to fulfill the mission of Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District.
Persons wishing to vote in the election may contact Jean E. Federico at the Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District, 743-5789, ext. 111, for more information.
