The Twin Cities will celebrate the holidays Dec. 4 with two tree-lighting ceremonies and a parade from Lewiston to Auburn.

It’s the seventh year the cities have combined their celebrations.

Construction near Dufresne Plaza will force Lewiston’s end of the celebration to move to Kennedy Park, Community Relations Coordinator Dot Perham Whittier said. The city will light the live spruce tree in the park at 6 p.m., kicking off the parade.

Floats will gather at the municipal lot at Ash and Bates street, following Bates to Pine and continuing west on Pine Street to Lisbon Street.

The parade will travel down Lisbon Street, down Main Street and across Longley Bridge to Auburn. The parade’s destination is Festival Plaza, where the Auburn tree and a menorah will be lighted.

Children can have their pictures taken with Santa Claus, and Stillbrook Acres will offer free wagon rides. There will be free story time and arts and crafts in Auburn Hall before the parade.

Dunkin’ Donuts will provide coffee, hot chocolate and treats, and Oakhurst Dairy will offer eggnog. Center Street Dental will give free dental supply bags.

Costumed characters from the Portland Pirates, Oakhurst Dairy, Dunkin’ Donuts’ Cuppy, Community Credit Union and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer will be on hand, as well.
