1936 – 2013
AUBURN — Gabrielle Ferland, 76, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully following a long illness on Monday, Nov. 25, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 5, 1936, the daughter of Philomon and Berthe (Beaule) Galipeau, and was a lifelong resident of the Lewiston-Auburn area.
Gabrielle loved to go for rides to the ocean and mountains, especially during foliage season. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and spending time with her family, and in her later years she enjoyed going to the casino and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Thornton and husband, Bob, of Minot and Pamela Murray and her life partner, Alison Gwyther, of Auburn; her son, George Chiasson and wife, Donna, of Turner; her grandchildren, Phil Chiasson of Lewiston, Jesse Mynahan of Jersey City, N.J., Erik Mynahan of Auburn, Matthew Chiasson of Lewiston, Amie Chiasson of Portland and Calli and Molly Murray, both of Auburn; her great-granddaughter, Felicia Chiasson; her great-great-granddaughter, Peyton Chiasson; and her sisters, Muriel Norton of Lewiston and Jacqueline Boucher and husband, Bernard, of St. Cloud, Fla.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Tim Chiasson; and her brother, Roger Galipeau.
