Free Thanksgiving dinner

RUMFORD — A free Thanksgiving dinner will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 28, at the VFW Hall, 330 Waldo St. The meal is open to anyone. RSVP to 364-0302.

Bethel Senior Citizens Club

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Bethel Inn.

Menu is choice of turkey or baked haddock.

Price is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Reservations must be made before Dec. 1 by calling Caroline at 824-3226 or Arlene at 824-2877.

The bus for the Dec. 5 trip to the Victorian Mansion in Portland will leave the Bethel Health Center at 8:30 a.m. sharp. Price is $13.

Webb River Sportsman’s Club

DIXFIELD — The Webb River Sportsman’s Club will have their supper and meeting on Monday, Dec. 2, at the club house on the Canton Point Road.

Supper at 6 p.m. will be followed by a meeting at 7. Members and guests are welcome.

Red Hatters enjoy mystery tea

MEXICO — On Nov. 11, 38 Red Hatters from the Red Hat Chili Mammas and the Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine attended a mystery tea at the Mexico Green Church.

Two birthdays were celebrated and the teapot exchange was made.

The Co-Queen read some cute readings and a play was presented by members of both Red Hat groups.

The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine will meet on Sunday, Dec. 8, to attend the Christmas Spectacular at the East Auburn Baptist Church and then eat at the Chickadee Restaurant in Lewiston.

Plan to leave the Dixfield Post Office by 1 p.m. If you plan to attend, call Isabel by Monday, Dec. 2.

Holiday jewelry sale at hospital

RUMFORD — A holiday jewelry sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Rumford Hospital, Conference Room A.

Everything will be priced from $2 to $10.

The sale is open to the public and is hosted by the hospital Auxiliary.
