A healthy eating workshop for cancer patients and survivors, “Healthy Holiday Eating,” will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2.
Sticking with a healthy eating plan can be challenging during the holidays. Amanda Ettinger, RD, LD, will share strategies for navigating the parties, buffets and cookie platters with moderation, not deprivation. Participants will leave the workshop with a bag of tricks and recipes for staying healthy during the holiday season.
A workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers, “You Can Learn to Love Change,” will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Life is a series of frequent changes. Some changes are welcomed and others range from inconvenient to catastrophic. Wellness Educator Marcy Covey will discuss simple steps you can take to become more comfortable with change.
A workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers, “Soothing Creations for Body and Soul,” will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Presenter Jessica Keneborous will introduce participants to the wonderful world of creating homemade deodorant, lip balm, hand salve, soap, moisturizing body oil, soothing bath salts, body mist and scented candles. Blend your favorite essential oils and express your soul’s unique scent. They make great gifts and are healthy for our bodies and the environment. Everyone will leave with one of their own creations and many more great recipes and ideas.
A stress workshop for kids ages 7 and older, “Stress Buster Wellness Series,” will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18.
Children’s program coordinator Tookie Bright, LCSW, and yoga instructor Tish Caldwell will lead this fun and unique series teaching children to identify stress in their minds and bodies. Parents and/or guardians are encouraged to attend and learn new ideas for how to coach children as they learn to soothe themselves.
