AUBURN — The following is the calender for December for teens ages 12-18 at the Auburn Public Library.
Teen Anime Club, Wednesday, Dec. 4, 4 to 5 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room. Teens can drop in to talk about their favorite or least favorite manga, watch the week’s selection of anime and try their hand at drawing their own characters.
Teens! Friday Stress Reliever, Friday, Dec. 6, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room. Relax at the Friday at the Movies series. This month’s movie is “A Christmas Story.”
Teen Gaming Hour, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 4 to 5 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room. Teens can stop in for video games and snacks. The library has XBox and Wii, with games rated teen and younger.
Safe Voices, Thursday, Dec. 12, 3 to 4 p.m. in the Teen Space. Amanda from Safe Voices will visit to chat about relationships and work on projects.
Teens Read! Book Club, Friday, Dec. 13, 4 to 5 p.m. in the Conference Room. Discuss books, share excerpts and make recommendations to one another. Snacks will be provided.
DIY Teens! Takeover, Wednesday, Dec. 18, 4 to 5 p.m. in the Teen Space. Every month features a new project from duct tape art to photography, create-your-own video games or magnetic poetry. This month will be holiday projects: help make a gingerbread house and/or make your own mosaic ornament.
DIY Teens! Writer’s Group, Friday, Dec. 20, 4 to 5 p.m. in Study Room 223. For teens who like to write and share what they’ve written. The group will also talk about publishing this work in a newsletter format in the spring.
DIY Teens! Media Club, Monday, Dec. 23, 4 to 5 p.m. in the CREATE! Media Lab. Movies, music, graphic arts: If you can imagine it, you can create it in the Media Lab. Make trailers, podcasts and more to post on the library website.
SACC visit, Thursday, Dec. 26, 3 to 4 p.m. in the Teen Space. Molly from the Sexual Assault Crisis Center will drop by for crafts, games and good conversations.
APL Teens: Teen Advisory Board, Friday, Dec. 27, 4 to 5 p.m. in the Conference Room. What do you want at the library? Do you have ideas about what books we should have? What types of programs should we offer? And how should we decorate and use the Teen Space? If you have ideas, TAB is for you. The group meets the fourth Friday of each month.
