DEXTER — Dexter police have arrested two men in connection with a Nov. 25 attempted robbery at Rite Aid.
Tyler Huff, 22, of Corinna was arrested Nov. 27 and Michael Hames, 21, of Palmyra was arrested the next day, Thanksgiving, according to Dexter police Lt. Alan Grinnell. Police charged both men with one count of robbery.
On Nov. 25, a pharmacist at Rite Aid spooked a would-be robber who passed a note demanding drugs, according to police.
“The pharmacist took the note, read it, and loudly said something to the effect, ‘You mean to tell me you’re robbing us?’” Dexter police Officer Allen Emerson said the evening of the robbery. “He said it loud enough so people around him would hear. [The suspect] got nervous, spun right around and ran off.”
The suspect did not get any narcotics and he did not display a gun, according to Emerson. He left on foot through the parking lot.
“The Dexter Police Department appreciates the effort on the part of the community to bring the persons involved in this crime to justice,” Grinnell said. “The department received a number of calls concerning this case.”
